Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust (CHFT) has a track record of delivery and is a system player who alongside its partners has ambitious transformational plans to ensure the continued and longer-term provision of outstanding compassionate care for patients and colleagues. The Trust:

  • has consistently been ranked one of the best (top 10) performing Trusts in England and has an overall CQC rating of “Good”;
  • is one of the most digitally advanced Trusts in England - investment in digital technology has transformed access to services, improved quality and outcomes of care, and supported people in managing their health;
  • has been allocated £197m capital funding to invest at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary and Calderdale Royal Hospital. This will enable the reconfiguration of services across the two sites as well as fully transforming care closer to home. Construction is planned to start in 2021 and is targeted to be complete by 2025.

CHFT’s Ten Year strategy (approved in 2020) identifies the Trust’s key strategic drivers and ambitions for transformational change. They include:

  • Delivery of outstanding care for patients
  • Implementing service reconfiguration across CRH and HRI
  • Digitally transforming the way we work and deliver care
  • Reducing Health Inequalities
  • Embedding learning and recovery from the Covid-19 Pandemic
  • Supporting Workforce Wellbeing
  • Reducing the Trust’s carbon footprint
  • Ensuring the effective and efficient use of resources
